The study aimed at
identifying the challenges facing women leaders in educational institutions in
the Sultanate of Oman. The problem was posed by the challenges faced by women
leaders in assuming senior management positions in educational institutions,
women's lack of awareness of their legal rights, and the lack of services that
enable them to obtain employment opportunities. The study population consists
of all women who hold positions in government education institutions: as
general manager, assistant director general, department director, deputy
director and department head, in total number of (322) women. The study sample was
(202) selected in a simple random way. The researcher designed a questionnaire
consisting of (51) paragraphs focused on three axes: personal challenges,
organizational challenges, and societal challenges. Using the descriptive
analysis method, the findings revealed that the assessment of the challenges
faced by female leaders was "medium" for all the study's axes, in this
order: organizational and legislative challenges, societal challenges, and
personal challenges. The researcher recommended that the media promote the
culture of society towards the assumption of women leadership positions.
