THE PARTICIPATORY LEADERSHIP PRACTICE IMPACT ON THE ADMINISTRATIVE QUALITY OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS IN NORTH AL BATINAH GOVERNORATE IN THE SULTANATE OF OMAN

Abstract

This research paper is part of an expanded study conducted by the researcher on; Practicing participatory leadership and its relationship to administrative quality for school principals in North Al Batinah Governorate, Sultanate of Oman. This article aims to measure the degree of participatory leadership practice of school principals in North Al Batinah Governorate. The study population consisted of all school principals in the governorate; The researcher choses a stratified random sample of (198) male and female principals according to the table of Gresty and Morgan (1970). The researcher designed an electronic questionnaire, due to several studies, which consisted of (23) statements distributed in three axes that covered the participatory leadership practices. The following statistical methods were used: descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient analysis, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient analysis. The findings revealed that: The practicing of participatory leadership was high, when the results ranged between medium and high.. Where the axis of human relations came first with a high rating. The axis of decision-making came second with a high rating as well, and the axis of the authority delegation came the last rank. The researcher attributes managers' lack of inclination to delegate authority; Because managers are keen to carry out official tasks by themselves with great care, and avoid any mistakes that may result from delegating powers to others.
