The aim of the research is to reveal the effect of using modern teaching strategies in learning mathematics in developing mathematical writing skills for applied mathematics for eleventh grade students in Muscat Governorate and North Al Batinah. The researcher used the quasi-experimental method on a sample of (56) eleventh grade students, including (27) male and female students in the experimental group, and (29) male and female students in the control group. The study tools were built, namely a mathematical writing skill test (10 questions). The test was applied to the experimental and control groups, before and after. The observation card was also adopted to measure the extent of application of modern mathematics teaching strategies. The search results showed; The differences between the results of the pre- and post-tests indicated: There was a statistically significant difference at the significance level (0.05) in acquiring the skill of mathematical writing, after applying modern teaching strategies in teaching mathematics, where the “t” value reached (3.91). This means that there is an impact of the strategies on acquiring mathematical writing skills. The effect size of modern teaching strategies in acquiring mathematical writing skills was an average effect of (0.753) between the pre- and post-tests. The results showed acceptance of the alternative hypothesis and the existence of a positive relationship between modern mathematics teaching strategies and the development of mathematical writing skills
