This experimental study aimed to know the effect of televised violence on aggressive behavior among preschool students in the Sultanate of Oman. The study was conducted at Ibn Al-Haytham Private School. To achieve this goal, the researcher adopted the quasi-experimental approach, using the aggressive behavior scale of Al-Amaira (1991) after standardizing it and making it suitable for the Omani environment. It was presented to a group of arbitrators. The reliability coefficient was extracted using the retest method, where the reliability coefficient reached (0.84%). The study population was (72) students. The study sample was taken from (50) students, two grades from the preparatory classes at the school. They were then randomly divided into two equal groups: an experimental group of (25) students who were subjected to the televised program for two weeks for (60) minutes per session, and the behavior scale was applied to them. The control group of (25) students was not subjected to the program. The results of the Mann-Whitney non-parametric test analysis showed that; There was no effect of the televised violence program on the average scores of aggressive behavior among the members of the experimental group, compared to the control group, at a statistical significance level ( ≥ 0.05), during the post-test. The results of the same test also showed that there was no effect of the televised violence program on the average scores of aggressive behavior among the members of the experimental group, compared to the control group, at a statistical significance level ( ≥ 0.05), during the follow-up test. The results were discussed and appropriate recommendations were made.
