Social entrepreneurship is identified at European
Union (EU) as a key instrument for regional cohesion and overcoming the
problems of poverty and social exclusion. As part of its policy to promote the
social economy and social innovation, social entrepreneurship contribute to
achieving the strategic goals set in 2020.
Legally binding definition for social enterprise at
EU level has not been introduced. However, in the last 5 years we have seen
that the leading strategic and normative documents define uniformly key
elements in the definition.
