Year 2022, Volume: 8 Issue: 23, 533 - 552, 04.09.2022

Abstract

This study aimed to build and standardize a job performance scale for employees of government institutions in the Sultanate of Oman. Through measuring four axes (organizational loyalty, organizational commitment, seriousness at work, and taking responsibility). To achieve this goal, a measure of job performance was developed and built, and the questionnaire was adopted as a study tool, which included (33) phrases, distributed over the four axes. A large sample of the executive employees in the Ministry of Education was selected for the study, amounting to (700) male and female employees, by stratified random method, in order for its size to fit the factor analysis. Preliminary analyzes were performed to verify the relevance and validity of the study data and the appropriateness of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The results confirmed that the data distribution is in the normal level, and the stability value of the expressions by calculating Cronbach alpha ranged between (.759 to .795) they are high values. The results of; the correlation matrix, the Kaiser-Meier-Olkin test, and the Bartlett test showed the suitability of the methods used. Then, exploratory factor analysis was adopted. To verify the formative honesty, extract the factors and categorize them according to the degree of their saturation and their relationship with other factors, as it was found that there are four axes of the scale whose latent root is more than the correct one. Each phrase with the axis to which it belongs was statistically significant at the level (0.01), thus confirming the formative validity of the scale. The results of the exploratory analysis in the functional performance scale concluded that 21 phrases were kept and 10 phrases were deleted. Then the confirmatory factor analysis was performed; To verify the structural validity of the job performance scale, the analysis process concluded by deleting (5) phrases, thus making the scale in its final form of (16) phrases. In light of these results, the study recommended the adoption of the job performance scale for government institutions employees in the Sultanate of Oman.
